Mi domando una cosa.
A che cazzo servono quattro recensioni per un album? Ci sono i casi eccezionali in cui si interviene per spiegare la nascita di un nuovo capolavoro o di un lavoro un po' sottotono e/o inaspettato come questo, ma mi chiedo perchè dare gli stessi pareri e soprattutto le stesse critiche su un album qual è questo ? Penso che sia una ripicca o un modo di sfogarsi contro la mancanza in ambito musicale di un gruppo di rilievo quali i mitici RATM. E allora detto questo passo subito alle critiche su questo album.
La monotonia di un Tom Morello sempre attaccato ai suoi WAH WAH non la trovo alquanto giusta perchè se i RATM fossero ancora lì a pubblicare dischi sai quanta monotonia ci avresti trovato. Bisogna farsene una ragione i RATM hanno detto già tutto. Ragazzi qui ci si trova a parlare di Audioslave. È come voler andare in pista da ballo e avere 80 anni. Ormai non si può più. Tornando a noi non vedo nessun punto svantaggioso a riguardo di questo album se non quello dello shock che qualcuno potrebbe avere per la perdita del gruppo enunciato prima.
Infatti l'album parte bene con una canzone che vuole calcare la mano per introdurre l'ascoltatore nella visione di quello che sarà la nuova opera. "Your time has come" infatti non calca come i pezzi dell'album precedente, ma vuole far capire qui le cose sono diverse. Qui si fa rock.
Che sia rock standard non ha importanza qui lo si fa alla grande. E soprattutto con grande semplicità dato che il messaggio deve essere diretto a noi. Per capire il concetto bisogna andare oltre ed immedesimarsi con quello che si sente.
"Be yourself" è una ballatona da paura con un Cornell sempre immenso come in tutte le sue prestazioni per altro e non capisco perchè criticarla al massimo. Si sente l'aria di un già sentito che aleggia, ma nulla di che. Per non inoltrarmi troppo sulle canzoni singole bisogna dire che questo cd è il punto di partenza della loro musica.
Scrollatisi di dosso l'etichetta di brutta copia dei Rage Against The Machine col primo cd, hanno voluto ora avventurarsi per una strada che io spero possa portare loro verso un successo secondo me meritato e... RATM=LOVE=R.I.P. UNA VOLTA PER TUTTE

Le ballads, assai presenti in questo disco, sono le cose migliori.
Chi cerca musica che evochi riflessione o emozioni forti rimarrà deluso: è un semplice LP on the road da ascolto superficiale.

Il disco è un puro e classico rock americano, suonato e prodotto veramente bene.
Ho notato come una professionalità fin troppo fredda per i miei gusti, che non provoca un’emozione davvero genuina.

Ho pianto... ma non per Black hole sun, bensì quando quel GALLINACCIO si è messo a cantare... meglio GRACCHIARE.
