Il ricordo del rimpianto Chuck Schuldiner.
Era il 13 dicembre 2001, giorno nel quale la vita del grande Chuck Schuldiner si spezzò, dopo l'agonia di una lunghissima malattia. Un giorno tristissimo per ogni amante della musica, in generale.
Da quel giorno l'ultimo ricordo dei grandissimi DEATH è proprio quest'album.
Questo disco oltre ad essere fantastico musicalmente, è l'ultimo lavoro di una carriera musicale costellata da tanti successi, da parte del gruppo che ha creato il death-metal. Ha un significato forte per tutti i fans dei DEATH e per gli amanti del genere. Infatti, proprio durante le registrazioni di quest'album, Chuck si ammalò della tremenda malattia che lo costrinse ad abbandonare tutti gli amici, i fans e le persone care.
La speranza di tutti è quella che da "lassù" il grande Chuck continui a suonare la sua chitarra e continui a cantare death-metal, come solo lui sapeva fare, grazie alla sua voce in alcuni momenti acuta come una "donnina isterica e insatanata" e in altri una voce calda e profonda che ...attimi... e ti perfora il cervello.
In quanto all'album, nulla da dire. Un grandissimo capolavoro death-metal.
Grandi prove alla batteria di Christy; basta ascoltare la prima track "Scavenger of Human Sorrow e subito si capisce con che album si ha a che fare. Bellissima anche la cover dei mitici JUDAS PRIEST, "Painkiller", dove Schuldiner dà il meglio di sé.
Le chitarre graffiano a dovere e nel modo giusto; con il solito particolare suono ribassato, dovuto all'accordatura tipo death!!
Un album cattivo e potente allo stesso tempo!! Disco strepitoso, assolutamente da possedere... anche per il ricordo del grande e rimpianto CHUCK... purtroppo in questo mondo infame se ne vanno sempre i migliori.

Questo album è pieno di capolavori, cominciando subito con 'Scavenger' che ci fa capire che è un master-piece.
Il modo di cantare di Chuck è perfetto per il tipo di brani proposti, regalando emozioni uniche.

L'apice si chiama proprio questo 'sound of perseverance' ed anche l'ultimo primo della morte di Chuck Schuldiner (rip).
Questo capolavoro è terminato e così si ferma la carriera dei Death... ci auguriamo che Chuck continui a suonare la sua chitarra dal paradiso.

The Sound Of Perseverance è il miglior album della storia del metal.
Voice Of The Soul è un gioiello strumentale che nessuno, nemmeno il più estremo degli ascoltatori di dance, troverà brutto o inascoltabile.

Ogni singolo brano riesce a trasudare sentimenti da ogni nota e soprattutto dalla voce di Chuck, un vero monumento dell’heavy metal.
