Siamo nel 1969 ultimo anno di vita della storica band The Beatles.
"Abbey Road" è stato pubblicato tra "Yellow Submarine" e l'ultimo "Let it Be" ed è, a mio parere, uno dei lavori meglio riusciti di questa band. La copertina dell'album è sicuramente una delle piu famose della storia del rock e contiene un messaggio nascosto che sembra dica che Paul Mc Cartney è deceduto in un incidente stradale.
Il rock degli anni 70 è nato da questo album e da brani innovativi come "Come Together", pezzo decisamente perfetto in tutte le sue parti con un Lennon che dispiega tutte le sue doti musicali.
Sono presenti anche brani degli altri due componenti della BAND (maiuscolo per la grandezza che questo complesso ha avuto nella storia).
George Harrison scrive due pezzi, "Something" e "Here Comes the Sun", due brani decisamente meno sperimentali di quelli presenti su "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". Il primo brano è una bellissima ballata che riscalda il cuore, il secondo è sempre una ballata, ma più veloce e meno "triste" di "Something".
Ringo Starr scrive "Octupus Garden" (è fissato col mare?) una canzone molto simile a "Yellow Submarine" molto all'acqua di rose, ma con una bella chitarra elettrica. Mc Cartney canta nella prima metà dell'album "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" canzone molto british, sulla falsariga di "When I'm Sixty-Four" e "You Never Give Me Your Money" una bella ballata “alla Mc Cartney” (nella sua carriera ne ha fatte a centinaia di canzoni così) con l'aggiunta di un intermezzo di John Lennon che velocizza il ritmo e trasforma la canzone in un pezzo rock con una brillante chitarra elettrica.
John canta anche "Oh! Darling", una canzone molto rock anni 50 alla BB King (a me ricorda "Stand By Me") e la innovativa "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" che, con il suo ripetersi martellante, può forse essere considerata la prima e vera canzone Alternativa-Rock.
"Because" è un brano molto strano dove qualsiasi cosa è assurda, le voci, il “clavicembalo” distorto e il testo (totalmente delirante e senza senso) è degno comunque di nota per la voglia di poichè sono stati i primi a sperimentare questo tipo di canzone. L'album prosegue con un'unica lunga canzone che si suddivide in 7 brani magnifici:
"Sun King" pezzo lento dove Lennon canta in spagnolo; "Mean Mr. Mustard" canzone un po’ strana che a me non ha detto nulla di particolare; Polythene Pam", un grande pezzo che riesce a mischiare il rock degli inizi con un qualcosa di innovativo (sarà forse per la chitarra elettrica?), che prosegue con "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window", brano simile a quelo prima, soltanto rallentato e con un cambio di voce (prima Lennon e poi McCartney).
"Golden Slumbers" è l'inizio della fine, un pezzo magnificamente lento dove le voci dei due cantanti si fondono insieme, ma certamente è McCarteny che crea il maggiore effetto all'inizo e alla fine del brano con quella bellissima melodia vocale.
"Carry That Weight" combacia con la fine di "Golden Slumbers", ma non convince più di tanto per la sua ripetitività, poichè riprende "You Never Give Me Your Money", cambiando solo le parole. Siamo giunti alla canzone che secondo me rappresenta una delle pietre miliari della musica mondiale "The End" un meraviglioso pezzo che ci presenta per la prima volta il punk rock, si esattamente quello dei Green Day. Sono stati i primi a inventare il punk, ma ancora non se ne rendevano conto. Il brano è di una bellezza sconcertante perchè mischia una sorta di punk primitivo, il rock e un bellissimo pezzetto lento alla fine. Capolavoro assoluto. "Her Majesty" è una brevissimo pezzo country, molto strano, che si poteva benissimo evitare.
In conclusione "Abbey Road" è il vero capolavoro della musica rock, è certamente l'album che ha influenzato di più la musica rock. Capolavoro.

Paul è morto. La dimostrazione si nasconderebbe nei dettagli.
"Abbey Road" è dominato dal particolare stato di grazia di Paul, che si mette alla prova negli autentici pilastri del disco.

Questo disco è famoso sopratutto per la copertina, che ritrae i 4 ragazzi di Liverpool ormai in direzione dei loro futuri che stavano per prendere direzioni diverse.
Un grandissimo album che dimostra come questo gruppo ha fatto cose indimenticabili.

La prima è diventata un inno generazionale ed è di una bellezza elettrizzante. Magistrale.
Abbey Road contiene anche la prima ghost track della storia, seppure questo accadde per un errore del tecnico che tagliò male il nastro.

L’importanza di questo album è intuibile, Abbey Road rappresenta i Beatles stessi.
