Questo album è vivamente consigliato a coloro che amano l'hard rock. In pratica questo album, uscito nel 1978, è il primo album dei Van Halen e i componenti del gruppo avevano poco piu di venti anni. Se non lo avete ancora ascoltato (il che mi sembra alquanto strano) resterete strabiliati dalla straordinaria tecnica chitarristica di Edward Van Halen, che divento' un supereroe della chitarra per poi tutti gli anni 80...
La track list è coinvolgente, esplosiva, ancora fresca dopo 25 anni ( l'ho appena riascoltato) ,pezzi come Runnin' With The Devil e Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love vi colpiranno per sempre, per non parlare dello strumentale Eruption, dove Eddie Van Halen fece rabbrividire i chittarristi di tutto il pianeta!!!
Il bello è che non ho ancora parlato di David Lee Roth detto "Diamond", fantastico fronter, dotato di una voce molto particolare ma sopratutto di una presenza scenica senza precedenti, copiata poi negli anni 80 da tantissimi gruppi glam rock. Le 5 stelle sono d'obbligo, per tutti coloro che amano il rock questo album è obbligatorio, un classico irripetibile. Non posso aggiungere altro. Ascoltatelo.

Eddie Van Halen, uno dei più grandi chitarristi di tutti i tempi che tolse le scale blues dal rock.
Van Halen non sono ne Hard Rock ne Heavy Metal, ma lo sono tutti e due insieme.

Ardore: è la prima parola che mi viene in mente ascoltando il primo lavoro in studio dei Van Halen.
Il suono della distorsione arriva potente e affilato come un rasoio, ... sembra di essere travolti da un’infinità di stelle cadenti.
