Volevo essere io per prima a dire che quest'album è pessimo. Questo disco rappresenta tutte quelle cose che sono fondamentalmente sbagliate nel genre prog-metal. Prima perchè suona come musica riciclata da altri album, senza far nulla per discostarsi da essi; poi perchè gli arrangiamenti sono pessimi, e dai DT uno non si aspetta solo arrangiamenti standardizzati tipici del metal, ruffiani nell'approccio, nelle trame sonore, nei cambi di tempo e nelle liriche. Ogni canzone può essere decifrata ascoltando solo il primo minuto e mezzo,il resto è inutile. C'è la sensazione che i DT non sono mai andati più a fondo di così. Hanno fallito completamente perchè hanno voluto troppo.
Cosa c'è di nuovo? Nulla! Ci sono molte melodie ripetitive, riff presi dagli album precedenti (soprattutto da "Octaplagium")e da altri gruppi. E' logico che da un bel po' di tempo i DT cercano di sopperire alla loro scarsa vena creativa con le loro abilità strumentali, che qui come mai risultano fini a se stesse. Questo mi fa dire che Systematic Chaos è uno dei lavori meno validi mai fatti in ambito metal.
Mal prodotto, prevedibile e pacchiano. Se i Dream Theater avevano dato un importante svolta al genere anni addietro, possiamo dire che ora stiamo assistendo all'uccisione del prog metal da parte di uno dei suoi gruppi fondatori.
Nocivo.

Il gruppo non fa altro che modificare leggermente i brani già scritti in passato.
Questo album è già un forte segnale di questo fatto, perciò siate onesti, non gridate al capolavoro.

Sorprendente
Questa canzone si articola tendenzialmente in due parti, la prima più lenta e struggente mentre la seconda più incalzante e tecnicamente eccellente.

Il Teatro Dei Sogni rappresenta il non plus ultra della mediocrità e della totale nullità artistica fatta Rock.
Un vero e proprio 'systematic chaos' insomma.
