ABSOLUTION
Ascoltare "Absolution" dei Muse è come vivere in un sogno, un dolce sogno illuminato dal buio di un'apocalisse ormai vicina. Un ritmo scostante, imprevedibile, imprendibile, risuona nelle orecchie come un piacevole mal di testa.
Un insieme di suoni post-rock toccate da petali bruciati rendono il lavoro del gruppo uno dei migliori. E mentre il ronzio iniziale di "Time Is Running Out" ti graffia il petto in modo sublime, ti accorgi che la metodica musicale e vocale è molto distaccata dal primo o dal secondo album che portano in rilievo influenze brit-pop.
E' un album più elettronico, un mix tra oriente, occidente, gelato alla fragola, asfalto, e, come tutti gli album dei Muse, dolce depressione da analizzare. Ti fotte la testa e non te la riporta più indietro. Ma il vero punto in cui le membra grigie se ne vanno, è quando incontro per la strada non asfaltata "Stockholm Syndrome" e mi rendo conto che l'album merita più di quanto pensano i critici perbenisti, i ragazzuoli indie-rocker o mio fratello.
Da tenere sotto controllo è anche "The Small Print" anche se nettamente inferiore a "Hysteria" sia musicalmente che narrativamente. Per concludere vorrei analizzare il testo di un loro pezzo......ma si........prendiamo come cavia proprio Hysteria:

La potenza del suono e dei testi è sempre su livelli alti e questa volta è ancor di più incitata dal clima plumbeo in cui versa la società.
Una marcia cupa (tipo The Wall) preludio ad un giudizio universale (Apocalypse Please) tanto temuto quanto invocato.

Matthew Bellamy sembra proprio essere in una forma strepitosa sia a livello vocale che strumentale.
Il genere che il trio ci propone è difficilmente definibile se non catalogando come un post-rock influenzato da qualche scheggia di metallo fuso.
