E' il 1969 quando i Beatles, dopo capolavori come Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt Pepper ed il White Album, pubblicano quello che pùo' essere considerato il loro ultimo album: Abbey Road.
Nel vedere che in molti consideravano quest'ultimo album come il migliore del gruppo, mi decisi ad ascoltarlo e ad oggi, dopo averlo ascoltato e riascoltato, posso dire che per me Abbey Road non è affatto il miglior album dei Beatles ed anzi stupisce per la sua debolezza.
Procediamo con ordine: l’album è costituito da due lati.
Il primo lato si apre con due ottimi brani (“Come Together” e “Something”) e prosegue con brani come “Oh Darling!”, “Octopus’s Garden” ed “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” che, pur non essendo eccezionali, sono comunque simpatici.
Il secondo lato, invece, tolti “Here Comes The Sun” e “Because”, è interamente composto da un medley di canzoncine banali, deboli e che addirittura danno l’impressione di essere incomplete…e sono proprio queste canzoncine che, assieme a “Her Majesty” (un “”””brano”””” che a mio parere poteva benissimo essere evitato), costituiscono il vero problema di quest’album.
Insomma, Abbey Road si regge esclusivamente sulla celebre copertina e su 2/3 brani che sono poi diventati alcuni dei più famosi in assoluto dei Beatles ed almeno per quanto mi riguarda, pur non essendo pessimo, quest’album non è certamente all’altezza dei loro lavori precedenti.

Paul è morto. La dimostrazione si nasconderebbe nei dettagli.
"Abbey Road" è dominato dal particolare stato di grazia di Paul, che si mette alla prova negli autentici pilastri del disco.

Questo disco è famoso sopratutto per la copertina, che ritrae i 4 ragazzi di Liverpool ormai in direzione dei loro futuri che stavano per prendere direzioni diverse.
Un grandissimo album che dimostra come questo gruppo ha fatto cose indimenticabili.

La prima è diventata un inno generazionale ed è di una bellezza elettrizzante. Magistrale.
Abbey Road contiene anche la prima ghost track della storia, seppure questo accadde per un errore del tecnico che tagliò male il nastro.
