Uno dei rischi più comuni in cui può incappare una giovane band reduce da un esordio folgorante ed in grado di far gridare al miracolo con il debut album, è quello di fallire clamorosamente al ritorno sulle scene con il nuovo disco. Troppo grande la responsabilità, troppo grande l’attesa dei fan, troppo pressante l’attenzione dei critici, appostati al varco e pronti a sottolineare anche il minimo calo di tono, ma soprattutto troppo grande la paura di non riuscire a compiere un’altra volta il miracolo. A questo punto la differenza, è matematico, la fanno due cose: la determinazione e l’intelligenza. Fughiamo subito ogni dubbio: i Linkin Park sono sei ragazzi tanto determinati quanto intelligenti.
Ecco quindi compiersi una seconda volta il miracolo: “Reanimation” non solo bissa tutto quello che, di positivo, era stato fatto con il fantastico album di debutto, ma grazie all’acquisita maturità artistica dei sei musicisti risulta arricchito di sfumature, echi, suggestioni, che latitavano nel comunque ottimo “Hybrid Theory”.
I Linkin Park hanno pensato bene di prendersi due lunghi anni di tempo, hanno studiato cosa andava e cosa non andava, hanno suonato dal vivo, hanno imparato molto e quando sono stati convinti al 100% di poter veramente superare se stessi, sono entrati in studio. Il risultato è tangibile: un lavoro estremamente razionale nella sua irrazionalità, preciso come un orologio svizzero nonostante il sound della band sia destinato inevitabilmente a far perdere l’orientamento all’ascoltatore, con il suo accavallarsi di punk, metal, hardcore, hip hop, musica tribale e death della miglior specie, sempre fusi con armonica perfezione anche in un contesto in cui chiunque lo avrebbe considerato fuoriluogo.
Un lavoro folle, deviato, malato, ma maledettamente intelligente. Proprio come i Linkin Park.

Un ciddì di remix parte sempre un po' svantaggiato perchè manca di originalità.
