The Band è un gruppo canadese‑americano formatosi dalla line‑up che accompagnò Bob Dylan a metà anni ’60. Con Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel e Garth Hudson, ha definito il roots rock con Music From Big Pink (1968) e The Band (1969). Il saluto alle scene è The Last Waltz (1976), filmato da Martin Scorsese. Reunion dal 1983 senza Robertson.
