Kendrick qui affrontava il tema dell'alcol in quanto espediente sociale. La scrisse ispirato dalla sua storia familiare, dal ruolo che l'assunzione di alcolici determinava all'interno delle mura domestiche ma anche in altri contesti. È un quadro riuscito che non demonizza né glorifica nulla.

Mi innamorai del sassofono grazie a queste scene, tra due dei miei registi del cuore. Dannato io che non l'ho mai imparato a suonare. Da una parte il solitario e paranoico Harry nel suo appartamento che suona la bellissima colonna sonora di David Shire; dall'altra il detective Cooper che assiste, all'interno della loggia, all'esibizione di Jimmy Scott in Sycamore Trees (scritta e arrangiata da Lynch e Badalamenti). Un presagio di sventura conturbante.

Charlotte Gainsbourg - Rest (Official Music Video)

Penso questa sia la composizione migliore che Guy-Manuel (metà del duo Daft Punk) abbia mai tirato fuori. Charlotte scrive invece in ricordo del padre Serge e della sorella Kate. Album importante per l'artista Gainsbourg. Nei suoi dischi si sente pesante la mano compositiva del produttore di turno, ovvero Jarvis Cocker, Beck ed infine SebastiAn. Lei rimane in ogni caso una buona penna.

Uno tra i finali che reputo perfetti. Le scene di ballo tratte dalla trilogia di Coppola, con l'intermezzo della Cavalleria Rusticana di Mascagni che causa pelle d'oca.

Pezzo riuscito di un pop che definire di classe è riduttivo. È malinconico perché richiama degli stati d'animo miserabili. E poi la chitarra in flamenco a metà.
