La classifica è "work in progress". I Fall certo. So che sono fondamentali, il fatto è che la loro discografia e come un branco di sardine che ti nuota appresso: non sai quale pigliare. Sono comunque nella lista della spesa assieme ai Pop Group e a qualche band di San Francisco. E magari un giorno approfondirò pure i Simple Minds dei quali in molti mi chiedono e che fin'ora ho snobbato.

I Siekiera sono una band polacca di metà anni 80, semplificando una sorta di via di mezzo tra Killing Joke e D.A.F.. Nulla di fondamentale ma per me non sono affatto male, hanno la loro personalità:

Già, nel frattempo avevo visto...per i Simple Minds approverei la loro presenza se limitata fino a Sons and Fascination, poi fanno il disco definitivo New Gold Dream ed infine scivolano nel pop da stadio/FM. Non trovo siano cosi' fondamentali.

Cazzo tu si che ne sai, io sono piuttosto giovane e conosco la new wave solo da poco tempo, ho anche comprato il libro Post-Punk di Simon Reynolds per saperne di più. Un giorno spero di scrivere una classifica valida come questa, ti faccio ancora i miei complimenti :D

TheNoiselBreath: il libro di Reynolds è ottimo anche per capire il contesto storico e la mentalità di allora, l'unica pecca è che liquida in poche righe alcuni gruppi importanti (e altri manco li nomina) dedicando invece tante pagine a gruppi artisticamente risibili tipo Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Libro da avere ad ogni modo.

Felo: il fatto è che per questa chart mi sono limitato al periodo 77-85 quindi prendo in esame solo i primi due dischi dei DCD(peraltro notevoli). Adesso che me lo fai notare però forse almeno una manciata di posizioni più in alto la meritavano (ci penserò).

Forse anche i Television sono un po' giù per i miei gusti. Ma, quisqiulie. Per me, comunque, i Dead Can Dance c'entrano anche poco con la New Wave, è un po' generico, ma quisquilie anche queste.

Felo, Spleen and Ideal effettivamente di New Wave ha gran poco però il primo omonimo è New Wave postpunk fino al midolllo anche se ha già con quel tocco di misticismo ed "esoticità" che li contraddistingue. Per quanto riguarda i TV riconosco la loro importanza però non mi hanno mai veramente "preso".

Taxirider, i Lowlife non li conosco, ho dato un orecchio a qualcosa sul tubo e non mi sembrano male ma mi suonano un po' come i Cocteau Twins con voce maschile e comunque sono successivi al periodo che ho preso in esame quindi anche volendo non potrei inserirli.

Naaaaa...credi a me: i Lowlife attingevano sì dai C. Twins ma non in maniera pedissequa. Inoltre erano riscontrabili nella proposta sonorità in stile The Sound. E digggiamogelo: alla fin fine facevano parte anche loro della grande famigghia "new wave". Comunque, a parte queste considerazioni, devo ammettere che hai dei gusti validi!

direi che potrebbero piacerti danielle dax e i lemon kittens. per provocare ci starebbe bene unlp dei vagina dentata organ, progetto amico di psychic tv. una belle cosa sarebbe indicare un disco di exene cervenka (cantante degli x), ma forse un pò lontana dall'atteggiamento wave che mi pare tu cerchi di sottolineare

  DD e Lemon Kittens non li conosco e me li segno, Vagina Dentata da quel che so mi pare un progetto power noise tipo Whitehouse per questo non mi pare il caso di inserirlo, è vero che ci sono i Throbbing ma mi è venuto naturale dopo averci messo Clock DVA e Cab e poi qualcosa tipo 20 Jazz ha episodi definibili wave.

Un tempo li avevo messi, poi li ho tolti. Non riesco a inquadrarli nella New Wave come la intendo io (come del resto Patti Smith o Bowie) anche se in tanti si sono ispirati a loro.

Vabbè Bowie non lo metterei neanche in qualche modo ne fu profeta e in qualche modo aderì al genere ma ragionando così bisognerebbe inserirlo in altre 2-3 classifiche. Non so tu come intendi la new wave ma io Patti Smith e i Television li metterei sia cronologicamente, sopratutto i Television (Marque MOon è del 77) sia stilisticamente, anche se è difficile accomunarli tutti sotto un unico genere.

  Per semplificare diciamo che nei Television e la Smith non sento quell'elemento "futuribile" che riscontro in tutto il resto del (non) genere chiamato New Wave.

Dico la mia di vecchio aficionado della materia: da un punto di vista strettamente musicale (sottolineo)Patti Smith con la new wave (giustamente definito non genere)così come con il punk (genere coevo e stilisticamente meglio inquadrabile)ha zero a che vedere, checchè in qualche compilation dell'epoca sia stata di straforo infilata e giornalisticamente abbia ricevuto assortite corone monarchiche punk . Il suo, ripeto sul piano strettamente musicale, era sano e tradizionalissimo rock'n roll USA e null'altro. Che poi abbia iniziato il "percorso" dagli stessi circuiti da cui altre blasonate band USA piu' strettamente "new wave" è un altro discorso. Poco diverso, sempre da un punto di vista strettamente musicale, è il discorso Television (anche loro inseribili, a mio parere, nella tradizione rock chitarristica star and stripes) anche se il loro approccio (che deve molto a band westcoastiane come i Grateful) aveva all'interno uno "spleen" di indubbia superiore modernità (e Little Johnny Jewel, primo singolo, , è forse la loro opera piu' new wave di tutte) . Se proprio vogliamo fare gli storiografi noiosi e stracciap. i Television sono inquadrabil come anello di congiunzione nell'evoluzione della specie, una sorta di (straordinaria comunque) band di transizione.
